The following has happened to me many times over the years; it just proves the value of a quality personalized children’s book: while at a conference in New York last week I met a man from Texas and had lunch with him. In the course of our conversation I told him about our personalized book business. He said that his grown daughter had one as a child and they still have it. I asked him what it was about and he said it was some kind of mystery and it was about her birthday. Of course, he was talking about A Birthday Mystery. He told me how much she loved it as a child and how she wanted to read it over and over because it was about her. Really, this tells it all. Our product is a winner and we all should be proud to sell these books.

Children who have difficulty reading or who don’t enjoy reading as much as other kids do can benefit from having a personalized book. When they see their own name in the story and realize that they are the main character, it creates more interest for them. As a result, they will pay more attention and will try to read the story themselves. Many times a personalized book will become a child’s favorite book, read many times over. Of course this repetition reinforces the learning of sight words and creates better comprehension.
