Text Your Customers

November 28th, 2011 by Bill Graham No comments »

These days people are texting more and more.  Why not text your customers? For those customers for whom you have phone numbers, think about sending them a text reminding them that a personalized book is a great holiday gift for a child. Even better, text them a special discount if they order before a certain date.  And remember, always get your customers’ phone numbers and email addresses if possible.  Build your database.

Windows 7 64 bit Systems

Computers running Windows 7 and 8 64-bit version have two program files folders.  When installing the Jiff-e-Books software, the program gets installed in the correct folder, but the book files do not.  To install the book files correctly, insert the Jiff-e-Books CD, click to install the books, and modify the install location as follows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Jiffebooks. Just add the (x86) after Program Files and click ok to install the book files.

Fall is Here

September 27th, 2011 by Bill Graham No comments »

Although we’re still having 100 degree weather in Texas and no sign of rain, it is fall – time to get busy selling personalized children’s books.  There’s not doubt about it, the 4th quarter is when the most books are sold. Now is the time to find venues where you can sell your books.  If you have a database, send out an email to people on it offering potential customers a discount on books, some kind of holiday special. Lots of people shop early, so it’s not too soon to start contacting people. You can always follow up with another offer later in the season.  Remember, personalized books make a great Christmas gift.

Helping out our schools

August 7th, 2011 by Bill Graham No comments »

We just noted that a new Jiff-e-Books personalized books dealer is donating $5 of each hard cover book sold to a school – not just any school, but to a school selected by the purchaser of the book at checkout.  The dealer will then contact the school administrator to discuss paying the donation to the school.  This sounds like a great way to get your foot in the door with school administrators and talk about doing fundraisers for them.  At a time of financial hardship in our country’s schools, this is an excellent idea. It’s always exciting to see the new marketing ideas that our dealers dream up.

Free personalized books website a great deal.

With our Pro Business Package you get a free website that is already set up with all of the Jiff-e-Books titles.  You can take it from there and add any other items you want to sell.  It doesn’t require programming – you go into your control panel, click to add a category, and add each item you plan to sell.  Most people find that setting up their own site is time-consuming and sometimes just too difficult.  Selling personalized items requires setting up the site to capture the personalized book information, saving it so the customer can review before purchase, and passing the information on to you so you can fill the order.  Not just any shopping cart software can handle that task. The only cost you incur to operate your site is $15 a month for hosting.

Thanks for great customer service

Letter from a Jiff-e-Books dealer: I just wanted to say thanks for your excellent customer service.  Recently I had a computer crash and I lost my hard drive.  I couldn’t find my installation CD for Jiff-e-Books.  I called Bill Graham and asked for help, thinking that I would probably need to pay for a replacement CD and wait for it in the mail.  To my surprise, Bill set me up a download from the Jiff-e-Books website and I was able to install the software in just a couple of minutes.  Plus, there was no charge!  It was nice to see that some businesses still understand what great customer service is all about. Now I can go back to selling my personalized books.

Time to get ready for fall

July 5th, 2011 by Bill Graham No comments »

Historically, the 3rd and and 4th quarters of the year see the strongest sales in personalized books and other personalized items.  Now is the time to take a look and see what venues are available to you for selling your Jiff-e-Books personalized books.  If you want to be in a mall for the holidays, now would be the time to start looking for the best deal you can find.  The same is true for flea markets, arts and crafts shows, etc. Think of ways to get your books in front of the public and start laying the groundwork to make it happen.

Also, if you’ve been wanting to put up a website to sell your books, this would be a good time to get it set up so it will be running smoothly in the fall.  If you have questions about setting up a site, please contact us and we will give you some advice.

Try AdWords if you want to advertise

June 12th, 2011 by Bill Graham No comments »

Google AdWords is a well-designed service that anyone selling on the web should consider using. They have a getting started page that walks you through the process of setting up an account and establishing your cost limits and keywords. The more targeted your ads are, the better the result; Google will help you with designing targeted advertising that is affordable. Whether you’re selling personalized books or anything else, you might want to try AdWords.

Try advertising your personalized books on Craigslist

May 1st, 2011 by Bill Graham No comments »

If you’re looking for a way to advertise your personalized books and gifts inexpensively, try a free ad on Craigslist.  If you have never advertised on Craigslist, it’s very easy to post an ad.   All it takes to sign up is an email address. There is a category for books. You can post up to four pictures on your ad.  You might pick up some customers who were just shopping for children’s books and who didn’t know about personalized books. (Be sure the word children’s is in your ad so it will show up if they search specifically for children’s books.) This is something to keep in mind for the next holiday selling season.
